This site is mostly editorial content: set lists, card pages, blog posts, and feature pages. It does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not ask you to log in.

What we use

Simple Analytics — simpleanalytics.com — a privacy-first, cookie-free analytics service. It records page views, referrer, country (derived from IP, not stored), and browser type in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint, does not track you across sites, and is GDPR-, PECR-, CCPA- and COPPA-compliant by default. No personally identifiable information is stored.
eBay Partner Network — when you click an eBay link on this site, eBay sets its own cookies under ebay.com to attribute the referral and, if you buy something, credit us with a small commission. These cookies are controlled by eBay and subject to eBay’s own privacy policy. No cookies are set by us for affiliate tracking.
Vault X affiliate link — clicking the Vault X banner redirects you to vaultx.com, which may set its own referral cookies. See the Vault X privacy policy.
Font Awesome CDN — icons are served from use.fontawesome.com. No tracking, but your browser makes an HTTP request to their CDN.
Card and set image CDNs — card images are served from our own CDN (tcgcompanion.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com, operated by DigitalOcean). Set logos and symbols are served locally from this site, or as a fallback from Firebase Storage (Google) for a handful of older sets. Your browser makes image requests to these hosts when you view card pages.

What we don’t do

We do not set any first-party cookies on this website.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracker-heavy analytics on the web.
We do not sell or share browsing data.
We do not require an account to view set lists, blog posts, artist pages, or card data.

Your choices

Since Simple Analytics is cookie-free and anonymous, there’s nothing to opt out of at the cookie level. If you want to block it anyway, most privacy-focused browsers (Brave, Firefox with strict mode) and tracker blockers (uBlock Origin) will already do so.

eBay cookies can be cleared or blocked via your browser’s cookie settings, or by blocking third-party cookies before clicking eBay links.

The TCG Companion iOS app

The app lets you scan, catalogue and price Pokémon cards. Some features require an account and some collect usage data, as described here.

Affiliate links in the app

When you tap an eBay link from inside the TCG Companion app — for example, the “Check on eBay” button on a card’s value screen — the URL is tagged with our eBay Partner Network affiliate ID. If you buy something on eBay within the cookie window that follows, TCG Companion earns a small commission from eBay. The price you pay on eBay doesn’t change, and the commission comes from eBay’s own margin. This applies to every eBay link surfaced inside the app.

This is the same arrangement used on the website and is covered by the site’s Affiliate Disclosure.

Information collection and use

For a better experience, while using the app, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (e.g. email address for account creation). Most collection data — scanned cards, quantities, variants — is stored on your device and synchronised to our server under your account.

The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:

Google Analytics for Firebase — usage analytics
Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting
OneSignal — push notifications
RevenueCat — subscription management
PriceCharting — market price data lookup
eBay Partner Network — affiliate tracking when you tap through to eBay listings from inside the app

Log data

Whenever you use the app, in the case of an error we collect data (via third-party products) including your device IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, time and date of use, and other diagnostic statistics.

Cookies in the app

The app itself does not explicitly use cookies. However, third-party code and libraries it integrates with may use cookies to provide their services. You have the option to accept or refuse these cookies at the OS level.

Security

We value your trust in providing your personal information and use commercially acceptable means to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Links to other sites

Both the website and the app contain links to third-party sites (notably eBay, Vault X, and external CDNs). These are not operated by us and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their own privacy policies before interacting.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
